Über diese Unterkunft
|Adresse||Acharnon, 104 40 Athens, Griechenland|
Our holiday apartment is ideal for a couple, but can accommodate two more (children or a couple) on a double-sized fold out couch. It has two large, bright rooms, an equipped kitchen with marble counter tops, bathroom with a bathtub (both tiled with original 70’s tiles), and a spacious balcony with a view of the main drag to Omonia and a distant view of the Acropolis.
The apartment is central and has excellent connections to all areas of interest in Athens. Plaka, with its myriad restaurants and bars, the Sunday flea market at Monastiraki, Psiri with its trendy eateries and boutiques, the famed produce markets in Athinas street, the nightlife and party area of Gazi, and the avant-garde neighbourhood Exarchia, are all 10-15 minutes away by public transport.
A supermarket with a deli section is located on the ground floor of the apartment building. Local cafés and grill houses, an excellent bakery, an ouzeri, a convenience store, a pharmacy, a hair salon and a square where locals congregate and relax on summer nights are all less than 3 minutes away.
The church and square next door is a local landmark, so taxis and friends will always be able to find their way.
The Attiki district is an area that is increasingly attracting students and creatives, thanks to its central and cheap location. It is a multicultural area with many ethnic restaurants and stores. Local gems, yet untouched by mass tourism, can be found on every corner: grungy cafés, traditional tavernas (read: no picture menus!), and traditional ouzo bars. We'll leave a local guide with a list of our personal recommendations, so you make the most out of your stay.
Nearby Attractions in walking distance, 1-minute walk to the Church of Panteleimon, 5’ to the Victoria Theatre, 8’ to Athens University, 9’ to the National Motor Museum, 10’ to Pediontou Aerous – one of Athens’ largest public parks, 15’ to the National Archeological Museum and Politechnik University of Athens, 15’ to Exarchia, a vibrant district boasting trendy bars, cafes, restaurants and boutiques, 20’ to the famed Athens’ Central Markets
The Victoria metro station, with direct connections to Monastiraki (Plaka and Psiri), Thissieo (Ancient Agora, pedestrian road to the Acropolis, the Herodes Atticus and the New Museum of the Acropolis) and Pireus (the port), is a 5-minute walk from the apartment. Changes to Metro lines 2 and 3, which connect the whole of Athens, are only 1-2 stops from Victoria. The Γ6 trolley to Omonia (near the university and avant-garde area of Exarchia) is a few steps from the front door. Larisis Station, with a direct connection to the Acropolis station and train network to other parts of Greece, is an 8-minute walk.

Because it is our holiday apartment, we have left the place in the care of a friendly neighbour who will hand over the keys and show you the ropes. Because she is not confident with English, you can rest assured that we will make ourselves completely available to you via email, (website hidden), and phone during your stay (if you so wish!), and will always do our best to communicate in real time.
Because it is our holiday apartment, we do not have a permanent router. Wifi is available in the bedroom via the neighbour-caretaker at a cost of 2€ per day, to be paid directly to them (the password will be provided upon request). We'll also deposit an internet USB key with the keys, which can be topped up at a store nearby and and used all around Athens.
HausregelnAs with all Greek households, please also be mindful of water heating usage (turn off after use to avoid incurring a house fee) and be sure to not flush paper down the toilet, but to use the small bin provided (Greek plumbing isn't the best, unfortunately!!).
